Haris Gacanin [IEEE SM’12, IEICE SM’12] received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electrical engineering from the University of Sarajevo in 2000. In 2005 and 2008, respectively, he received MSc and PhD from Tohoku University in Japan. He was with Tohoku University from 2008 until 2010 first as Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) postdoctoral fellow and later, as an Assistant Professor. He joined Alcatel-Lucent (now Nokia) in 2010, where he worked as Physical-layer Expert, Research Director and a Department Head at Nokia Bell Labs until 2020. During 2018-2020, he was adjunct professor at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) in Belgium. Currently, he is full (chair) professor at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. His professional interests are related to broad areas of digital signal processing and artificial intelligence with applications in communication systems. He has 200+ scientific publications (journals, conferences and patent applications) and invited/tutorial talks.

Dejan Vukobratović received his PhD degree at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad in 2008, where his is now Full Professor. From June 2009 until December 2010, he was a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellow at the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. He is director and founder of ICONIC centre at the University of Novi Sad. He has published 100+ papers in top-tier journals and conferences. His research interests are in massive wireless IoT communications and large-scale distributed information processing. His research group was involved in FP7-PEOPLE-2011-IRSES project "QoSTREAM" (2012-2016) and FP7-PEOPLE-2013-ITN project "ADVANTAGE" (2014-2018), and is involved in H2020-MCSA-2015-RISE project "SENSIBLE" (2017-2021) and H2020-WIDENING-2018-TWINNING project "INCOMING" (2020-2022).

Mariusz Głąbowski (IEICE SM) received the M.Sc., Ph.D., and D.Sc. (Habilitation) degrees in telecommunication from the Poznań University of Technology, Poland, in 1997, 2001, and 2010, respectively. Since 1997, he has been with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Poznań University of Technology. He is engaged in research and teaching in the area of performance analysis and modeling of multiservice networks and switching systems. He has authored/coauthored five books, seven book chapters, and over 200 papers. He has refereed articles for many international conferences and magazines.

Piotr Zwierzykowski (IEICE SM) received the M. Sc., Ph.D. and D.Sc. degrees in telecommunications from Poznań University of Technology, Poznañ, Poland, in 1995, 2002 and 2015, respectively. He is currently an Professor with the Institute of Communications and Computer Networks, Poznań University of Technology, Poznań, Poland. He has authored/coauthored four books, and over 200 papers. He has refereed articles for many international conferences and magazines.

Maciej Piechowiak received his M.Sc. degree from the University of Technology and Life Sciences, Bydgoszcz, Poland in 2002 and his Ph.D. degree from the Poznan University of Technology, Poznan, Poland in 2010. He is currently an assistant professor in the Institute of Computer Science at the Kazimierz Wielki University, Bydgoszcz, Poland. Dr. Maciej Piechowiak is an author and co-author of dozens articles published in journals and conference proceedings (several conference awards). He has served as a Guest Editor and Editorial Board of two international journals and TPC member of several international conferences.

Luigi Fortuna (IEICE SM) was born in Siracuse (Italy) in 1953. He received the degree of Electrical Engineering (cum laudae) from the University of Catania in 1977. He was researcher in Electronics up to 1987 when he became Associate Professor of Automatic Control. In that a period he was more time visiting researcher at the JET (Joint European Torus) in Abington (UK) where he worked in the design of control apparatus of the JET machine. Since 1994 he is Full Professor of System Theory at University of Catania (Italy).

Maciej Sobieraj received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics and telecommunications from the Poznań University of Technology, Poland, in 2008 and 2014, respectively. Since 2007, he has been working at the Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications, Institute of Communications and Computer Networks, Poznań University of Technology. He is the coauthor of more than 40 scientific papers. His research interests include modeling multi-service cellular systems and switching networks and traffic engineering in TCP/IP networks.
